I just saw an interesting infographic about web design I thought I’d share (Web Design: Professional vs. Amateurs). It shows amateur designers vs professional designers. Made me think about how practically anyone out there can pick up a copy of Photoshop and instantly become a ‘designer’. As someone who was trained as a designer (and not all need the training, some are just great designers to begin with), it both drives me crazy and reassures me all at the same time. If those people can throw up a website and get work, why can’t I?
A group I belong to on Linked In encourages freelancers to post their websites and of course I’ve checked quite a few of them out. There’s always the diamond in the rough, but the rough is a large amount of rough, if you know what I mean. Anyways, I’d love to hear about or see pictures of some bad design you may have recently encountered. Feel free to share!
